HOW THE ART COLLECTIONS UNFOLD

Over more than a decade, my work has unfolded through a series of self-contained collections, each reflecting a distinct phase of personal and artistic progress. The central thread weaving these series together is the exploration of human presence as a threshold — a space where perception, memory, and symbolic structures converge — and the continual negotiation between introspection, transformation, and creative expression.

2014-16 – Das Atelier von Minerva

An early investigation into the authenticity of knowledge within a symbolic interior space. The series introduces constructed figures suspended between philosophical inquiry and institutional structure, reflecting on the tension between intellectual autonomy and systemic frameworks.

2017 – Hope

Developed within my new reality as an immigrant in Belgium, this series marks a turn toward introspection and self-definition. Through twenty charcoal portraits, the work reflects on displacement, belonging, and the conscious shaping of identity within a transforming socio-political landscape.

Note: this period coincided with the early stages of Brexit and broader European debates on migration, providing a synchronic historical context to the work.

2018 – As Human, Knowledge

A series of three dry pastels on paper exploring female consciousness and temporal reflection. The work positions women as active participants in philosophical inquiry, challenging historical exclusions and engaging with time-consciousness as embodied knowledge.

2019 – Het Licht Series

A focused exploration of light, human embodiment, and the emergence of humanoid figures within geometric spaces. The series examines the intersection of corporeality and abstraction, reflecting on transformation, identity, and the subtle negotiation between human and artificial forms.

2021 – Freedom’s Wings

A series of four charcoal on linen portraits exploring female presence and the subtle liberation from culturally imposed constraints. The portraits navigate abstraction and emotion, embodying a tension between light and shadow, with experimentation in dry and liquid charcoal techniques.

2022 - My Plato's Cave

A singular work exploring cycles of life, transformation, and the unfolding of potential. The composition embodies birth, renewal, and the continual evolution of experience, visualized through a spiral that structures both growth and perception. Light, gesture, and symbolic forms converge to create a suspended, atemporal space, where past, present, and future interlace. The work reflects the interplay between memory, intuition, and projection, revealing the subtle anticipation of future experiences while articulating a profound engagement with presence and creative potential.

2023–24 – PostPartum Collection: Embracing Its Uncharted Realms

This series reflects the profound inner transformation following the arrival of new life. Through oil on linen cardboard, the works explore transitional emotional states, the emergence of identity in relation to care, and the subtle interplay between presence, memory, and perception. Figures inhabit spaces of quiet intensity, where symbolic gestures and pictorial rhythms reveal both vulnerability and resilience. The collection invites viewers to engage contemplatively, to inhabit the thresholds between experience, reflection, and imagination.

2025 – Hecate

A flagship work embodying symbolic culmination, Hecate series of four portraits presents a convergence of myth, human experience, and metaphysical exploration. The composition situates the figure at a liminal point — a threshold of transformation — where light, shadow, and form articulate cycles of consciousness, empowerment, and reflection. As a rare and emblematic piece, it conveys profound conceptual density, inviting sustained attention and offering a meditative encounter with the interplay of inner forces, symbolic resonance, and pictorial presence.
